A part of the Relocation Readiness Program, the Community Connection "A Welcome Center for Soldiers & Families", should be one of the first locations where you stop.  This family friendly facility offers a wide array of services and resources.

Clearing Services

After you recieve your clearing papers for Fort Carson, you will clear at the Community Connection.  Staff will issue four different stamps to cover ACS, Army Emergency Relief (AER), the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), and the Loan Closet.  Note, if you have an active AER loan, you must clear at the ACS Center, 6303 Wetzel Avenue, Bldg. 1526, prior to coming over to the Community Connection.

Homebuyers Workshop

Purchasing a home?  Not sure where to start or what has changed?  If so, this workshop is for you.  Taught by Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, the workshop offers perspective home buyers the in's and out's of the home buying process. Topics include: the local housing market, preparing for home ownership, choosing a realtor, selecting the right house, obtaining the right mortgage, Veterans Affairs (VA), and understanding the process from start to closing. 

Immigration & Naturalization Services

Provided FREE to DoD ID card holders. Service offers information on Immigration and Naturalization policies, procedures and forms. 

Loan Closet

Temporary household items for use while your household items are in shipment to or from Fort Carson.  For specific informaiton, visit the Loan Closet page.

Newcomers Orientation

Learn about the services and programs that are available to you.  Participants enjoy a van tour of the post and local community.  It's a great way to meet other's and make new acquaintances.  Childcare must be requested one week in advance if it is needed; child(ren) must be enrolled in CYSS.  To reserve childcare spaces, call +1(719)526-0457;  participants will receive a childcare confirmation.

Sponsors are an integral part of the relocation process.  Sponsors are trained int he process before sponsoring an incoming Soldier or civilian employee.  Sponsorship helps to ease the transition for a newcomer as well as their family.

Sponsorship should be made available to anyone making a permanent change of station (PCS) move.
