This class will be taught via videoconference using the Zoom platform.

To attend this class virtually, you will log onto your ZOOM APP (available free to download) or without the APP you can log onto www.zoom.com  and click "Join A Meeting" in the top bar. 

This will work on your computer, tablet or phone.  You will need speakers or sound.  A camera and microphone will improve class participation, but are not required in order to view or participate. 

Once you register for this class, you will receive an email from us that includes the meeting ID and password.

This 15-week class will encourage father-child relationships, cultivate bonding, attachment, communication and build family resiliency. The classes are on every Tuesday & Thursday from 1-3 p.m..

Week 2

The Importance of Fathers:  Why you matter to your children and what it means to be an involved dad.

Week 3

Communication:  Key concepts of communication and building skills.

Week 4

Dealing with Anger and Conflict:  How anger affects us, anger awareness, key concepts about conflict, and conflict resolution concepts.

Week 5

Genograms:  The family roadmap.

Week 6

Child Development:  The impact dads have at the child's early age; child development and brain research.

Week 7

Bonding, Attachment, and Other Special Issues:  How dads bond with their children.

Week 8

Fathers and Play:  An interactive opportunity for dads and their children.

Week 9

Mid-term Review:  Review video from Fathers and Play Week and a review of materials covered to date.

Week10                  

Discipline (Part I - The Need For Discipline):  The importance of discipline.

Week 11

Discipline (Part II - An Effective Combination):  The power of positive discipline and other effective discipline techniques.

Week 12

Building Relationships:  Appreciating personal differences.

Week 13

Father/Child Relationships:  The special things dads give and receive from a relationship with their children.

Week 14

Self Esteem/Stress Reduction Techniques:  The role of fathers and a child’s healthy self-esteem.

Week 15

Conclusion:  Uncovered subjects and unanswered questions.
