Beginning in April 2021 and ending in August, the training program will involve weekly self-guided workout plans that will help prepare the participant for the 13.1 mile hike to the top of Pikes Peak. During the training portion of the challenge there will be online support for participants. There will be a weekly check-in, via email, to see how the participant is doing and where they might need extra support. There will also be monthly workouts at Ironhorse Park to promote camaraderie and social support to prepare for the climb.

The final event, the climb to Pikes Peak, will be scheduled for the first Saturday in August (weather permitting). In the event of a weather cancellation, the climb will be pushed to the following Saturday until weather allows for a safe climb. Participants will be picked up at the top. This is not a guided tour. Hikers will hike at their own risk. Hikers accept liability and responsibility of risk. Purchase price for this event includes the training program, long-sleeved shirts, and beanies. Purchase price does not include the hike to Pikes Peak.

There will be a social media group, such as a private Facebook group, created so participants can support, ask questions, post articles or achievements, and build a team environment to prepare the participants for the hike.
