Fitness Centers

Fort Carson MWR has 5 gyms in convenient locations for every fitness enthusiast. Each gym offers weight rooms, cardio rooms, fitness classes, personal training and a wide range of services!

Age Requirements

Eligible patrons with valid military identification may use Fort Carson Fitness Centers. 

Ages 16-17 may utilize Fort Carson Fitness Centers without parental/adult supervision.

Ages 13-15 may utilize Fort Carson Fitness Center on the condition that they must be actively engaged in fitness center activities while systematically supervised by and within arm’s reach of their parent or guardian. Non-compliance is deemed as loitering.

Children 12 & under are NOT authorized to utilize Garcia, McKibben, or Waller Fitness Centers.  Non-compliance is deemed as loitering. Children MAY use the indoor track, basketball courts and racquetball courts at Ivy Fitness Center under direct supervision of an adult (18+) from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.  Strollers and infant carriers are also authorized during this timeframe.

100% ID check in effect at all times.

Fitness Attire Policy

Fort Carson MWR staff reserve the right to notify patrons in violation of the Fitness Attire Policy to cover up/change attire or leave the facility.

CLOTHING AND ATTIRE
       Must be in good taste and repair.
       Should be appropriate for the occasion and location.
       Must be worn according to the manufacturer’s intention.

BODY COVERAGE
       Clothing must cover the body in a simple and competent manner.
       Torso, buttocks, and undergarments must always remain covered. The torso includes the chest, abdomen, back, and sides.
       Any article of clothing through which undergarments can be seen is prohibited.
       Clothing designed to be worn as undergarments or swimwear is prohibited unless covered by appropriate clothing that will not expose undergarments or swimwear (e.g., sports bras, swim trunks, or bikini-like items).
       A two-in-one top may be worn if it does not expose the sports bra itself.
       Strapless blouses are not permitted. Tops with spaghetti straps may be worn if proper undergarment support is worn underneath.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
       Plastic, rubber, PVC, or nylon suits designed to cause profuse sweating are prohibited due to the danger of heat illness.
       Closed-toe shoes that completely cover the foot must be always worn. Sandals, Crocs, flip-flops, bare feet, and socks without shoes are not permitted in exercise areas.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
       Military uniforms should not be worn with civilian clothing by both Active-Duty Service Members and civilians, as per Army Regulation 670-1.
       Clothing with obscene, slanderous, racist, sexist, extremist, or vulgar language or images.
       Clothing with language or images advocating the overthrow of the US Government or depicting discrimination, violence, gang affiliation, drug paraphernalia, or illegal drug use.
       Key rings, wallet chains, jeans/belts with metal rivets/spikes, or any other objects protruding from pockets that may damage exercise equipment.
       Street or dress shoes on court surfaces; non-marking athletic shoes must be cleaned on mats provided at each court’s entrance.
       Respiratory equipment that disrupts normal breathing (e.g., elevation masks, gas masks, or snorkels).

PFC SAUNA DRESS CODE
       Clothing is not optional. Bathing suits/ athletic wear and sandals/shower shoes must be always worn.
       Street shoes and head coverings, including shower caps, are not permitted in the saunas.
       Army Combat Uniforms and Army Physical Fitness Uniform (APFU) are not allowed in the saunas.
       Plastic, rubber, PVC, or nylon suits designed to cause profuse sweating shall not be worn due to the danger of heat illness.

ENFORCEMENT
       Fitness center Personnel are responsible for enforcing these standards fairly, impartially, and objectively. Final decisions on policy interpretation rest with PFC Management.

Guest Policy and Guest Application Form

Eligible patrons may act as a sponsor and bring non-DOD guests to Fort Carson gyms. An eligible patron/sponsor has DOD-issued identification and falls into one of the following categories: Active Duty military, Retirees, Reservists, DOD civilians, DOD contractors, military dependents and other users as defined in AR 215-1, table 7-1
       Sponsors must be 18 years of age or older.
       Sponsors may bring up to two (2) guests per visit.
       Sponsors are held liable at all times for their guest's conduct at any Fort Carson gym.
       All sponsors and guests must present valid and verifiable identification at the front desk. 
       Sponsors and guests must complete the Guest Application Form (PDF) and complete the sign-in and sign-out portions of the document for every visit.
       Failure to sign out prior to exiting the facility results in the sponsor’s loss of guest privileges.
       Sponsor(s) and their guest(s) must enter and depart the facility together.

DOD civilian sponsors have no limit on the amount of times that they may bring immediate family members as guests. An immediate family member is defined as a sponsor's child (no more than 22 years old) or a spouse.

Guests with no military affiliation or whose dependent status does not reflect any of the previously mentioned requirements may use Fort Carson gyms a maximum of 4 times in a month.

Safety Commitment

Sports & Fitness Staff are required to review and settle any situation/discrepancy that may jeopardize the safety of the patrons in any Fort Carson Physical Fitness Facility. Please report any discrepancy/injuries to a facility staff member immediately. Individuals misusing the facility or failing to comply with instructions of facility staff are subject to immediate expulsion from the premises. Violation of policies listed may result in family members losing facility privileges and military personnel being subject to disciplinary action under UCMJ.

Please keep in mind that the overall safety and atmosphere conducive to adult exercise is the highest priority of the Sports and Fitness staff. Thank you for your help in providing a great workout environment for the Fort Carson community.
