Developmental Milestones Matter!

Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving "bye-bye" are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move (crawling, walking, etc.).

Tracking your child's milestones gives you the chance to catch early signs of possible developmental problems, so your child has the best chance to get the help he or she might need.

The ACS Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), in coordination with The Resource Exchange (TRE), our local early intervention service provider, is hosting a FREE Developmental Screening for children between the ages of birth and 3 years old. The screening is performed by TRE's Early Childhood Specialists, who will use screening tools to assess the developmental performance of children in the areas of communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem solving, and personal-social skills.

Learn the signs. Act early. Sign up now to reserve an appointment to have your child's developmental milestones evaluated, and to learn how to track your child's development!

Screening is available to all  DOD ID holders. Sign up is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Evaluations will take approxamitly 15 minutes per child.
