In observance of the National Day of Mourning in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, the following Fort Carson DFMWR programs/facilities will be closed on Wednesday, December 5, 2018:

- Army Community Service Programs and Facilities 
- Auto Skills Center
- CYS: Youth Center, SKIES, Sports, Parent Central, Administrative Offices
- DFMWR Bldg. 1217 Administrative Offices 
- Elkhorn Catering and Conference Center
- Fitness Centers: Garcia, Waller, McKibben
- Grant Library 
- Intramural Sports (games canceled)
- Nelson Indoor Pool 
- Outdoor Recreation Complex
- William Reed Special Events Center

The following Fort Carson DFMWR programs/facilities are open on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, in limited capacity:

- CYS Child Development Centers and School Age Centers: Accepting children of validated emergency/mission essential personnel (children of validated personnel will be dropped off at their normal center)
- Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club: Open with minimal staff
- Iron Horse Sports and Fitness Center: Open 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Thunder Alley Bowling Center: Open with minimal staff
